First Baptist Church in Orlando is a very large church and still growing. They are averaging 15,000 people

per weekend with no end in sight. Even though they have a "state of the art" facility and a dynamic marriage

counseling team of eight counselors, they recognized the need for help. They utilized Dare to be Different to train

a small group of 50 mentors with the idea that if it was a good fit for the church, more would be trained.

 

The training went very well and in no time the leaders decided to launch on a larger scale. Their goal is to

equip at least 100 more mentors. The impact on the church could be immeasurable. Imagine hundreds of

lay couples equipped to tend to the needs of so many marriages. The leader of the counseling team gave his full

support and is excited to watch so many lay couples get in the arena of marriage mentoring for the first time.

"Praise God"....I am excited to see professional counselors catch the vision of what can be accomplished through

lay people.

 

Just one week after the training a team went to Germany on a misison trip. While in Germany, they were able to

minister to couples using the DARE marriage mentoring. Just days after the training, they were mentoring couples

in crisis. They also utilized the DVD Training Kit to equip a pastor in Germany to mentor broken marriages

using the mentoring system.

 

I am excited to see what God will continue to do at First Baptist Orlando. What a great experience. Thank you to
